Dr Nicola Phillips
Manchester Metropolitan University
Programme Support Tutor
Dr Nicola Phillips worked with a colleague as a Project Manager for 'Stories in Science' after recognising that there was little information available about the career pathways of Life Scientists when she was considering her own career. Having completed her PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Nicola took up a Postdoctoral Researcher position at the University of Dundee where she became involved in the College of Life Sciences Postdoctoral Association. Working on the Postdoctoral Pathways project encouraged Nicola to move out of research and she is now employed in MMU’s School of Science and the Environment where she supports and tutors students of all levels in academic, pastoral and career matters.
