Biography

Winner of the Times Higher Education Awards and recognised at a national level in three consecutive years, Daniela is currently the Skills Development Programme Manager at University College London. She is responsible for planning, managing and developing all aspects of the Graduate School's extensive skills programme for all postgraduate students. Alongside her role at UCL, Daniela works as a freelance skills trainer and coach and she delivers a number of skills workshops across the universities in the UK and internationally. Being very keen to also focus on her own development, Daniela is involved in several volunteering activities one of which is being part of the Trustee Director's Board for the Volunteer Centre Westminster. Previously, Daniela worked as a Personal Development Planning Trainer at University of Essex and then was the Research Skills Training Coordinator at The University of Northampton working with postgraduate research students and Early Career Researchers. Within the first two years in this role, Daniela made an outstanding contribution to the generic research skills training programme and developed innovative programmes that gained national recognition and got nominated in 2010 in the Times Higher Education Awards (THE) for "Outstanding Support for Early Career Researchers". In 2011, The University of Northampton won the THE Award for "Outstanding Research Management Team of the Year" and the judges singled out for praise Daniela's initiative for setting up an innovative Research Staff Network. In 2012, the Skills Development Programme for researchers that she manages at UCL also got nominated in the THE Awards for "Outstanding Support for Early Career Researchers".
