Biography

Calum Leckie is a Careers Consultant and joint Deputy Head of the Careers Service at UCL, part of The Careers Group, University of London. He has a background in academic research. After obtaining a PhD in plant pathology from the University of Birmingham, Calum went on to do two postdoctoral research projects, both in cell physiology, at Lancaster and Newcastle Universities. This was followed by a Wellcome Trust funded fellowship at the University of Newcastle Medical School and at the University of California at Berkeley. Calum has joint responsibility for the provision of tailored careers programmes at UCL to PhD students and research staff, in collaboration with the UCL Graduate School and UCL Human Resources. Calum is a member of the AGCAS Research Staff Task Group. Calum has also been involved in a range of external activities including course organiser for the Graduate Entry into Medicine Day for the Careers Group, University of London. He also worked as a Careers Consultant for several years at The London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.
