David McAllister is currently Head of Skills and Careers at BBSRC, following a number of science policy and operational roles within BBSRC, including managing the technology and e-science portfolios. He currently leads the development of BBSRC’s skills and talent strategies ensuring bioscientists possess the skills and knowledge needed for careers in research and to underpin strategically important sectors of the UK economy. He also is strategic coordinator for BBSRC’s Global Challenges Research Fund, and is co-Chair of the RCUK Research Careers Network. He holds a degree and PhD in parasitology from the University of Glasgow.
