Biography
Dr Emma Rowlett is a dedicated adviser for PGRs with sensory and physical impairments, mental health difficulties and long-term medical conditions. She is disabled herself and was a student at the University for 12 years. She completed BA and MA degrees in the School of Sociology and Social Policy and a PhD focusing on the issues faced by visually impaired and dyslexic students in HEIs and the staff who support them. In addition to the insight gained by her research, Emma is able to draw on her experiences as a disabled PGR and a member of staff supporting such students as well as the knowledge and practical experience she has gained during almost five years in this role.
