Catalyst Editorial 

Jane Alfred is a professional editor, whose former editorial roles include Deputy Editor of the open access journal PLOS Biology and Executive Editor of the non-profit journal Development. In 2014, Jane left the publishing industry to launch an independent editorial consultancy company – Catalyst Editorial (www.catalyst-editorial.co.uk) – in order to work directly with the academic community on research integrity and research communication. Jane currently provides training and policy advice on research integrity, publishing ethics, research practice, and peer review to research institutes both in the UK and in other European countries. She is an occasional adviser to the UK Research Integrity Office and is an associate member of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). She also continues to work closely with scientific publishers and is currently an editorial consultant for the open access journal, eLife.
