Dr Jane Wellens is Head of the Graduate School at the University of Nottingham where she is responsible for the strategic development and implementation of the University’s activities to support postgraduate research students, postdoctoral research staff and their supervisors/managers.  Jane has worked in academic staff and researcher development since 2000 and at Nottingham since 2009.  Prior to that she was Lecturer in Geography at the University of Leicester and held postdoctoral positions at the Universities of Leicester and Reading.    Jane been Principal Investigator on projects which have supported national and international researcher development activities funded by HEFCE, ESRC, AHRC and the British Council. She has also served on a number of national advisory bodies and working groups addressing research staff development including those of AHRC, Vitae and the CROS/PIRLS surveys.
