Biography

Dr Nessa Carey is the International Director at PraxisUnico, the networking and training organisation which represents technology transfer officers.  Prior to taking on this role in 2014, she was a Senior Director at Pfizer, specialising in generating new collaborations with academia.  Nessa has 10 years experience in senior scientific roles in UK biotech companies, a career path she embarked on after leaving an academic position at Imperial College, where she is now a Visiting Professor.  Perhaps a little bizarrely, she is also a former forensic scientist and briefly trained as a vet.  Nessa has a PhD from the University of Edinburgh and is the author of the popular science books The Epigenetics Revolution and Junk DNA: A Journey Through The Dark Matter Of The Human Genome.
