Biography

Rui is Researcher Development Advisor for Postdocs and Early Career Academics, in the Centre for Academic and Professional Development (CAPD) at QMUL. Prior to this, Rui was an EMBO Postdoctoral Research Fellow at The Gurdon Institute, Cambridge University, before taking a postdoctoral position in the burgeoning Institute of Bioengineering in the School of Engineering and Materials Science, QMUL, from 2009-2013. 

Rui has been with the Researcher Development team within the CAPD since 2014, which provides strategic, developmental programmes, advice and bespoke support for postdoctoral researcher development across QMUL. He helps to develop and deliver the Development Programme for postdoctoral and early career research staff, co-ordinates the postdoctoral networks at QMUL’s campuses, is the Euraxess Contact Point for QMUL, and sits on the CROS and PIRLS steering group
