Biography

Dr Sue Carver joined the Arts and Humanities Research Council (which was then the Arts and Humanities Research Board) in 2003, having previously worked for the Agriculture and Food Research Council and the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council.  She was appointed as Head of Research Careers, Training and Peer Review in April 2010.  This post incorporates responsibility for researcher development and oversight of the AHRC’s Peer Review College. The role built on her previous experience of working on postgraduate schemes and policy but extended it to include early career researchers.  She works closely with colleagues who lead on AHRC-funded schemes such as the new Doctoral Training Partnerships, Centres for Doctoral Training and Leadership Fellows, whilst also leading on more specific development opportunities and events for postgraduates and early career researchers.
