Biography

Emilda B. Rivers is the Director of the Human Resources Statistics Program (HRS) of the National Science Foundation's National Center for Science and Engineering Statistics. As the HRS Director, she is responsible for the collection and dissemination of comprehensive information on the education and employment of scientists and engineers. These data address science and engineering career pathways and inform domestic and international policies. Ms. Rivers has extensive experience in the  federal statistical service as a mathematical statistician working on establishment and demographic surveys. During these years of service, she has often used her statistical and methodological expertise to design and implement projects that provide previously missing data critical to decision making.
