Biography 

Ade Olaiya is currently pursuing a PhD in Universal Human Rights at the University of the West of England. He has chosen to complete his thesis through participatory action research methodology, and engage collaboratively with the university as a member of the Race Equality Charter Mark Self-Assessment Team. Ade has also participated as a national panellist in the assessment of applications for Bronze and Silver Awards for the Equality Challenge Unit. His professional experience in the field of race equality includes Executive Trustee and Chair of Wiltshire Race Equality Council between 2011 and 2013; and currently Director and member of the Board of Trustees of the Malcolm X Centre, Bristol. He is also a student member of the University and Colleges Union, as well as Friend of the European Network Against Racism which is one of his collaborative research partners.
