Biography

Jamie is in the final stages of completing her PhD in Women’s Studies at the University of York. Before returning to research, she worked for more than 10 years as a writer/journalist, and has written for publications such as Elle Malaysia, Harper’s Bazaar Malaysia, Time Out Kuala Lumpur and The Huffington Post Blogs. She won the Vitae 3MT People’s Choice Awards in 2018 and has since gone on to develop and conduct her own training and webinars on public engagement, and various aspects of doctoral research. She also serves as the Postgraduate Research Student Liaison Officer overseeing the novel, peer-led ‘How to Survive your PhD’ series of workshops for the PGR community at York.
