Biography 

Jordan is a second year PhD researcher in the School of Sport and Exercise Health Sciences and the Department of Geography. His research looks at the legacy of the London 2012 Olympic Games particularly the role of the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. This has two themes; primarily looking at the usage of a post industrial leisure space and second to understand how The Park has impacted upon the youth of the local areas. This engages with amongst others issues around the term ‘legacy’ and urban regeneration to establish how London 2012 has ultimately been beneficial to East London. Jordan is a co-founder and co-creator of the Loughborough University PhD Support Network, alongside Andy Rowe. The PhD Support Network is a postgraduate research led network aiming to address what often feels like a forgotten cohort in the University system; particularly where emotional and social wellbeing is concerned. The network aims to provide a space where doctoral students can come and interact with others, in an informal and friendly environment, and talk about certain issues that may be affecting them. Jordan takes a back seat within the Network developing ideas about how to take the initiative forward in the future with various ideas currently under development.
