Biography

Karen Bill is Associate Dean for Research and Enterprise in the Faculty of Education, Health and Wellbeing at the University of Wolverhampton where she has responsibility for leading research and enterprise. In 2008 she was admitted as an Entrepreneurship Education Fellow by the National Centre for Entrepreneurship in Education (NCEE) and was appointed as a Knowledge Transfer Fellow at her previous University. This year she was appointed to the role of Director on the Board of Enterprise Educators UK and is the lead for social enterprise.

She is also the Institutional Athena Swan champion and recently led a team to successfully gain the Bronze University award which recognises a commitment to advancing women’s research careers in STEM subjects.

She is passionate about enterprise education and facilitating entrepreneurial leadership skills amongst staff and students within a higher education context. Karen was involved in the initial pilot of the Vitae Researcher Development Framework (RDF) on behalf of her University and initiated NU2EU, a programme designed to foster entrepreneurial and leadership development in supporting senior researchers in equipping them with the knowledge and capabilities to bid competitively in Europe. The programme draws from some of the RDF competencies.
