Biography

Kate is Head of Operations of the Institute of Integrative Biology (IIB) a gold Athena Swan departmental award holder at the University of Liverpool. Working as a business partner with the Dean of the Institute, Kate is responsible for the strategic and operational management of the Institute, and leads the 60 professional services support staff to ensure the best research infrastructures and platforms are in place to deliver the Institutes scientific priorities, and the best possible student experience for its Post Graduate Research Students.

Kate has driven a number of equality and diversity; career development; and health and wellbeing initiatives which benefit all staff groups and students and these are having a significant impact on wider institutional initiatives.  Most recently Kate was awarded £150K HEFCE Catalyst award supporting PGR Mental Health and Wellbeing.
