Biography

Kate is a Senior Research Fellow in the Department of Health Sciences at the University of Leicester. Kate has been an active champion of the Concordat to Support the Career Development of Researchers, forming a Research Staff Advisory Group in her department in 2006, and contributing to a number of University change projects drawing on research staff experience. Her research interests include the undertaking of randomised controlled trials particularly of complex interventions in long term conditions. She has received funding from the Medical Research Council, Health Technology Assessment Programme and various charities, and has published widely.  Kate has had a keen interest in equality and diversity throughout her career. She is the Departmental Equalities Officer, chaired the Health Sciences Athena SWAN self- assessment team; the first at Leicester to gain a Silver award, and is Gender Equality Lead for the College of Medicine, Biological Sciences and Psychology.
