King’s College London

Katheryn is a PhD student in Molecular Oncology at King’s College London. Her research aims to understand why some patients with Head and Neck cancer respond well to therapy, but others don’t. The ultimate goal is that this work could be used for better diagnoses and treatments in the clinic.

Katheryn received her BSc in Biological Sciences at Leeds University, before attending the University of Bristol to do a Masters in Biomedical Sciences Research, graduating with a Distinction in 2015. Katheryn then moved to London to start her PhD at King’s College. She has always been interested in disseminating research through science communication, experiencing her first exposure to these activities as an undergraduate. On top of her PhD she now teaches and contributes to two podcasts.
