Olamide Eso
Biography
Olamide Eso is a Commonwealth Scholar pursuing PhD in Sustainable Energy Technology at the University of Nottingham, UK. A sustainability researcher, focusing on "passive hybrid windcatcher ventilation system integrated with phase change material (PCM) for hot climate buildings”. She has presented her research at international academic conferences, leading to publications. Beyond research, Olamide has actively contributed to education policy discussions at Commonwealth education ministers' meetings. She has served as a university senator, representing postgraduate students' voices at her university to reshape policies and enhance equity in PGR research experience. She successfully facilitated scholar-government engagements and dialogues. Her research accomplishment, transformative initiatives, and contribution to the research community towards improving PGR research culture at her university earned her the prestigious Andrew Hendry Endowed Scholarship Award. She is also recently been shortlisted for the UK Postgraduate Student of the Year Award, with the winner set to be announced this September.
