Biography

Dr Patricia Hamilton works in the Research Capacity Development division of the Postgraduate School at the University of Johannesburg, South Africa. She is responsible for conceptualizing and coordinating research skills development opportunities for postgraduate students and is currently working on a project examining women’s experiences of postgraduate study in South Africa. She completed her PhD in Women’s Studies and Feminist Research at the University of Western Ontario (Canada) in 2017, where she explored black mothers’ engagements with attachment parenting, a popular parenting philosophy. Her research interests include feminist research methodologies, parenting culture studies and intersectional feminism. Her next project is an intersectional examination of parental leave policies.
