Dr Sue Carver
Organisation
Arts and Humanities Research Council
Job title
Head of Histories, Cultures and Heritage
Biography
I joined the Arts and Humanities Research Council (which was then the Arts and Humanities Research Board) in 2003, having previously worked for the Agriculture and Food Research Council and the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council. I was appointed as Head of Research Careers, Training and Peer Review in April 2010 and moved to take up the post as Head of Histories, Cultures and Heritage (HCH) in January 2016. In my current post, I lead a team responsible for a range of schemes and themes that support research within the team’s remit, including the strategy around the Priority Area of Heritage, and AHRC’s engagement in Environment and Health. I have retained an interest in research careers and training as the HCH team leads on the Leadership Fellowship Scheme and the Collaborative Doctoral Schemes.
