Susannah is an Assistant Director at the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy with responsibility for research talent.  She led delivery of the PhDs and additional fellowships announced in the 2017 budget, including the Rutherford Fund.  Previously she led on STEM inspiration for nearly 6 years.  In partnership with the Wellcome Trust she developed the Inspiring Science Fund.  She led the transformation of Government funded STEM inspiration for the digital age, including the STEM Ambassadors Programme and the CREST Awards, to further target underserved audiences.  Susannah has over 20 years’ experience of policy making for government in different Departments, including streamlining support for small businesses and regional policy.
