The UK government set out a commitment to a new deal for postgraduate research in the UK R&D Roadmap (2020) and subsequently in the R&D People and Culture Strategy (2021). To develop a more attractive offer for postgraduate research training, UKRI is seeking broad input from across the research system on how to deliver accessible, fair and well-funded conditions for future doctoral candidates.
