Biography
Caryn is the Manager of the White Rose College of the Arts & Humanities, a doctoral training partnership between the Universities of Leeds, Sheffield and York which has funding to recruit and train over 540 doctoral students, for 10 years from 2014, to realise their career aspirations within and outside academia and become future leaders in their chosen fields. This role comes after a varied career including an early stint as a nutritionist after which she worked as a training and development specialist with Nestle UK for 9 years before joining the University of York in 2006. She has held several different research support roles at York, including FP6 project co-ordinator, and manager of an interdisciplinary research Centre in Complex Systems, before moving into central research student administration including the management of training grant funding across the University's UKRI portfolio.
