Where is Getting to grips 2022 taking place?
This is an online event with both on demand and live content. The on demand content will be available to watch ahead of time via the event webpage, and live sessions will be hosted via Kumospace and Zoom. For specific session links see the event agenda provided.
How do I register for the event?
Visit our website to book, tickets are available at Vitae member and non-member rates. Check if your organisation is a Vitae member.
Where can I find the agenda?
An overview of the programme can be found on the event webpage and the agenda containing session timings will be sent to you two weeks before the event. This will include links to the on demand content and for the live sessions being hosted via Kumospace and Zoom.
How do I access the ‘on demand’ content?
The on demand content will be available to watch ahead of time via the event webpage, and live sessions will be hosted via Kumospace and Zoom. For specific session links see the event agenda provided. Note that you will need to be logged in to the Vitae website using the email address you used to register for the event in order to access the on demand content.
What do I do if I have sound and/or video issues during the event?
Please try the following steps of:

checking the settings within the platform you are using

re-joining the session

restarting your computer or trying a different device

dialling in by phone if that option is enabled

seeking support from your institutional/organisation IT service, if available.
What is Kumospace?
Kumospace is an immersive group video chat tool. We will be using this platform for some sessions during the event to aid collaboration and connection between participants in a more informal setting than Zoom.
You can enter our Getting to grips Kumospace anytime throughout the day, including the dedicated networking sessions shown on the agenda. We look forward to seeing you there.
How do I use Kumospace?

Enter the Kumospace by using the link provided in the agenda, where you will be prompted to sign in

Enter your name so that other people can identify you (you may like to include your affiliation as well)

Use the map at the bottom right of the screen to help you navigate the room

Use the + and – keys to zoom in and out, use the up and down keys to move around. Alternatively, click your cursor on a place on the map and your avatar will move there

See who is in the room using the People icon on the bottom left of the screen

The map shows features in the room, which can be used as a ‘meeting point’ to help you find and connect with other participants
