Following on from the success of the virtual Live Lectures in the previous IP for Research programmes, Vitae and the Intellectual property Office (IPO) is again offering free online live lectures within the 2021/22 programme. These events aim to:

  • increase the Intellectual Property (IP) knowledge and skills of doctoral and early career researchers;
  • help researchers create greater impact through the IP generated in their research;
  • and clarify how, why and when researchers should engage with their institution about IP

Bookings for the IP for Research online lectures have now closed. There are no more events available to book this year.

IP for research virtual lectures

The Live Lectures provide an overview of IP in the UK as it relates to research, the role of the IPO and why IP is important to researchers. They will also provide some guidance on where researchers can look for support on IP matters before looking in more detail at the core elements that constitute intellectual property. The live lectures will support researchers’ development by:

  • exploring the different types of IP that you could be creating as a researcher
  • helping you make informed decisions on use of any IP generated
  • explaining when and why you might need to speak to an IP expert at your university
  • highlighting the potential opportunities to use IP to maximise the impact of research

The information provided is from a UK IP perspective, but would be useful to researchers working on international projects with an interest in understanding IP more widely. You are welcome to attend wherever you are based. Timings are GMT.

Log-in details to access the event will be sent to booked participants shortly before the event.
