This 2 day course will look at the building blocks of the collaborative style of
research: inclusive communication, cultural awareness, robust planning, negotiation and the ability to work effectively with others. Whether your collaboration is with another academic in your department, or partners from different subjects, sectors and countries, it will help you to develop winning strategies for connecting and working with others.
What will it involve?
The course will be attended by up to 30 researchers from across the country, from different disciplines and career stages. It is led by a team of experienced facilitators who work with participants throughout the 2 days to support learning.
This is an intensive 2 day course. When registering for the course you will be
expected to attend on both days.
Aims / Objectives / Learning Outcomes
The aim of the course is to equip participants with some of the tools they’ll need to be more effective research collaborators.
This will be achieved by developing an understanding of:
- Your own strengths for collaboration
- The needs for collaboration, and the differences in these in different contexts
- How to create or spot opportunities for collaboration; and,
- How to collaborate, again noting the differences in different contexts, and
- focussing on practicalities
