Concordat consultation event for researchers

In partnership with the UK Research Staff Association (UKRSA)

As part of the revision of the Concordat to Support the Career Development of Researchers, and in parallel with the online consultation, members of the Concordat Strategy Group are hosting a series of sector consultation events, including this event dedicated to the views of researchers.

This round table event provides a timely opportunity to discuss the review recommendations in further detail including the pertinent issues of fixed-term contracts, mobility, promotion opportunities and support for independence. Summaries of the discussions will be captured to feed into the consultation analysis and the event will help inform the new revisions to the Concordat, ensuring the UK provides world-class career development support for researchers over the next ten years and beyond.

The event will be hosted by the University of Oxford on 7 December at 12:30 and is open to researchers in the UK. There is no fee to attend, but places are limited to 30. Attendees will be selected to ensure a balance of different researcher perspectives and include researchers from different organisations.

We are specifically seeking to include the voices of postdoctoral researchers, research assistants and associates, research fellows, and other staff engaged in research, such as technicians and ‘hidden researchers’ (e.g. hourly paid teaching staff). If you are able to speak on behalf of a researcher group, such as a Research Staff Association, please state this in your application.

Places will be confirmed via email.
