Vitae Connections 2: Insights into Researcher Development - Horizon Scanning
An event for experienced researcher developers (those who have been in their role for more than five years).
Twelve years ago Sir Gareth Roberts published 'SET for Success' which was the catalyst for the UK HE sector to engage with researcher development. Since 2002 there have been many changes - not only to the researcher development agenda, but more widely to to research, to higher education and consequently to the important role you have as researcher developers.
So, what will the next decade or so bring ? What will be the challenges? What are the potential and emerging issues and opportunities, risks and threats to research and researchers? How will you meet them?
- hear thoughts from invited speakers
- discuss these issues with others who have experienced the changes in the researcher development agenda, and the effect on the role of the researcher developer.
- show leadership by pushing the agenda forward
- influence others in your institution
- manage change
- look at raising your game and add value to your role.
