Every Researcher Counts Train the Trainer (1)
A Vitae London Hub event
King's College London, Friday 31 January 2014
Struggling to know how to meet RCUKs statement of expectations for equality and diversity?
Vitae's ‘Every Researcher Counts' flexible suite of resources can help. These resources are for staff developers and principal investigators to ensure that, in relation to research staff, equality and diversity issues are understood, visible and prioritised in HEIs.
This one day ‘Train the Trainer' event will provide an opportunity for participants to:
- learn about the Every Researcher Counts materials,
- understand how they can be used within their own training and development programme for Research Managers, Principal Investigators and Supervisors
- create and refine an operational plan for implementation with staff from their own institution*
- take the first step towards ensuring the RCUK statement of expectations are met by their own institution.
*This train the trainer event is open to all HEIs in the UK but with priority for places for participants in the London, East of England and South East England hub regions. This is a repeat of the day which was run on 31 January, so there are two dates for you to choose from. In order to get the most from the training we recommend that each HEI sends at least 2-3 members of staff from the following list:
- Staff Developer responsible for the development of Principal Investigators/Supervisors
- HR specialist
- PI/Supervisor
- Research Manager
- Equality and Diversity Specialist
- PVC for Research or equivalent.
The London, East of England and South East England Hub Managers would be happy to answer any questions you may have about this event.
