Book your place now

Vitae is pleased to invite member HEIs to the London member networking seminar, co-hosted by Queen Mary University of London. This one-day event is part of a series of networking seminars open to member organisations. The free seminars, hosted by our Vitae regional representatives and member organisations, aim to facilitate networking and practice-sharing among the staff based at Vitae member organisations.

The day will be broken into two parts:

Morning (including lunch) - Vitae update and networking

Vitae members from the London region are invited to meet and network with colleagues from across the region in an informal discussion forum. Members of the Vitae team will be available to share updates on recent Vitae activities, including our consultation on a model for Researcher Developer Recognition, providing you with the chance to shape the direction. Please come along to meet us, share your thoughts and ask any questions in this key opportunity to ensure the Vitae membership programme for 2018/19 meets the priorities of your region.

Afternoon (including lunch) - Theme: Academic Professional Apprenticeships Standard – what does it mean for researcher development?

All Vitae member colleagues are invited to join a broad discussion of the Academic Professional Apprenticeships Standard and the potential impacts and opportunities for researcher development.

Participants will:

  • look at the process and elements in more depth

  • hear a case study from an institution that has already started the ball rolling

  • consider and discuss what the apprenticeship would mean for and how it might look in your institution

  • identify and take away actions to get started

Who should attend?

We particularly welcome the Vitae membership key contacts and other individuals able to speak on behalf of their institution. However, membership is for everyone within the institution and we encourage everyone with an interest in developing researchers to attend, including PVCs, Heads of graduate schools, Researcher Developers, Research Offices, HR and Careers professionals, Directors of CDTs, E&D champions, and researchers.

Seminars are open to all those based at Vitae member organisations and are free to attend. You can attend whichever and as many meetings as you like whether they're in your host region or not however priority will be giving to staff from the host region.
