Steven is Placements and Partnerships Officer for the AHRC funded CHASE Doctoral Training Partnership. Prior to this role he completed a PhD in Media and Cultural studies at the University of Sussex and worked as Placements and Work Experience Officer at the University of Sussex Careers and Employability Centre

Sarah Middle

PhD student at Open University

Sarah is in the second year of her PhD at the Open University, which looks at the integration of an approach called Linked Data (connecting digital objects based on features they have in common) with existing methodologies for Ancient World research. She recently completed a placement at the British Library that involved visualising data about appeal cases heard by the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council. Before returning to study, Sarah worked in academic libraries for several years, most recently as Repository Manager at Cambridge University Library. Her previous studies were in the areas of Ancient History and Archaeology, and Electronic Communication and Publishing.

Collaboration Facilitator at South West Doctoral Training Partnership

Rob Keegan

Rob is the Collaboration Facilitator at The South West Doctoral Training Partnership (SWDTP). As well as developing tailored training programmes for students and staff, the Partnership also supports a wide variety of collaborative activities, including events and student placements, in public, private and civic society organisations. The SWDTP Placement Scheme offers the opportunity to get work experience of up to six months in a relevant partner organisation. This can benefit research as well as helping to enhance CVs and future employment prospects.
