East of England: Membership networking seminar

Vitae is pleased to invite member HEIs to the next member networking meeting, co-hosted by the University of Hertfordshire.

As part of the 2015/16 Vitae membership programme, Vitae is pleased to announce its annual member-only networking seminars where we will explore a topical theme, update you on Vitae activities and invite your input into the next Vitae programme for 2016/17.

Seminars are hosted by our Vitae regional representatives and member organisations in order to facilitate local networking and broader regional and UK interaction.

Building on feedback from our members, the morning session of each seminar is based around a priority theme, chosen by the region, to encourage practice-sharing and networking. Expert speakers on the theme will provide thought-provoking input to stimulate discussion.

In the afternoon, seminar participants will have the opportunity to hear an update from the Vitae team, followed by a broad discussion of interests and priorities. Feedback from this session will inform the Vitae membership programme for 2016/17.

What’s in it for me?

  • Engage in discussion, debate and sharing practice about a topical priority theme
  • Opportunity for new members to meet colleagues from around the region and UK
  • Network with colleagues from member institutions
  • Establish and rekindle local networks and working groups
  • Hear about recent progress and future plans for Vitae membership
  • Contribute to the development of the Vitae 2016/17 programme

Seminars are free and open to all Vitae members. We welcome your input as members. If you cannot attend your regional seminar, you can choose to join us at any of the seminars.

Who should attend?

Membership is for everyone within the institution, therefore, we encourage attendance from anyone with an interest in developing researchers. For example, the seminar may be of interest to PVCs, Heads of Graduate Schools, Directors of CDTs, E&D champions, Researcher Developers, or staff from Research Offices or HR. We particularly welcome participation from the Vitae membership key contacts.
