Navigating your digital profile #vitaehangout

Work-life balance for researchers

Join us at 10.00am on Tuesday 20th June to learn more about how to use your personal brand to create a digital identity and effectively use online platforms to promote your research #vitaehangout

Our panellists include a digital nomad, personal brand expert and a researcher developer who all talk the talk - but more importantly walk the walk when it comes to successfully navigating the digital world to promote their work and their research.

The panellists will be:

Dr Jodi Nelson-Tabor, Leadership/Creative Consultant and Digital Nomad

Dr Kieran Fenby-Hulse, Researcher Developer and blogger at Coventry University

Marco Stephano Wilbrink, Transformational Coach and Mentor, Brand Consultant

“I would like more information about diversifying your “brand” as an academic … most ECRs will need to seek employment outside of academia, in which case they should be able to market their unique skillset. As part of this, I would like to see media training opportunities as well as more information about employment possibilities outside of HE.” ECR, Communication, Cultural and Media Studies, Library and Information Management

Panellists will take audience questions, so this is your opportunity to get expert advice on personal brands to create a digital identity.

This 'Focus on' is designed to provide you with useful strategies to navigate and keep up with this ever-changing research environment.

Our panellists will join our moderator to discuss questions, such as:

  • What are the purposes and benefits of using your personal brand?
  • What is a digital identity?
  • How to create a digital identity?
  • How to effectively use online platforms to promote your research
  • Where and how can you find resources to help
The Google Hangout will be moderated by Dr Kate Mahoney, Vitae Consultant
