Get your voice heard and boost your career #vitaehangout

Join us for a live online #vitaehangout on 21 May (Thursday) between 2-3pm UK time to discuss research staff associations and their benefits, both to the career of individual researchers and to the research and higher education environment in general.

Respond 'yes' to our Google+ event to attend

This video Q&A aims to uncover why it is so vital to grow and sustain research staff associations for the collective voice and influence of research staff. We'll explore the benefits individuals can experience by working with research staff associations, including stories of those who have stayed in academia and those who have changed career. Our panelists will also offer advice on how to join and run research staff associations for maximum benefit to all.

So, what benefits will you directly experience for your career by getting involved with research staff associations?

Our panellists will join our moderator to discuss this and many other questions, such as:

  • What are the professional and career development benefits of joining a research staff association?
  • How do research staff associations work to provide a collective voice and influence for research staff?
  • Who are UKRSA and ICoRSA and what do they do?
  • How could you contribute to local, national, and international research staff associations?
  • What does running and sustaining research staff assocations involve?

The Google Hangout will be moderated by Katie Wheat, Vitae Project Manager.
