Response by Dave Jarman, Head of Enterprise Education, University of Bristol:
"Originality is quite important in differentiating a new business from existing competitors – especially if you’re planning a massive growth business by doing something that disrupts established markets. However, lots of business are successful by simply being slightly better in some way than their competitors – i.e. quicker, cheaper, better quality etc. So originality is helpful but not critical."
