Day 1 at 09:45 - This pre-conference workshop provided international participants with the opportunity to meet each other and Vitae staff before the main conference began. The session aimed to provide background information for the conference to enable participants to understand the context of researcher development within UK higher education institutions, and the contribution of Vitae. Participants:
- explored the structure of the UK higher education system and support for the professional development of researchers
- gained an overview of the main drivers influencing researchers and research staff and the delivery of professional development in the UK
- background about the key reports, most common acronyms, and latest surveys and initiatives.
Format:
The session was a mixture of a short presentation and group discussion. Participants were encouraged to bring along any questions that they had to the session.
