Abstract |
As one of the largest Polytechnic in Indonesia, Politeknik Negeri Bandung (Polban) has an obligation to conduct research likes other higher education institutions. At the beginning, many lecturers in Polban have struggled to perform this duty, since generally their research capacities are relatively low. To alleviate this problem, strategies have been implemented such as trainings, create a researcher competency standard and set a grading system based on the research proficiency level. Nowadays, the number of lecturers conduct research has increased gradually (>90%). While the research outputs are increased, we also need to improve our Research Quality. One of the best way to achieve this is by setting an international research collaboration. Actually, an international research collaboration might only realize if Polban's lecturer has already acquired an excellent research record. Therefore, starting from 2014, Polban has built a Centre of Technology and Innovation to be the Centre of Excellence. The objectives are for orienting capabilities that have been accumulated, and to establish a network for collaboration between Polban and industries, research institutes and other universities. |
