Vitae Impact, Culture and Engagement (ICE) Awards 2024
Recognising the Contribution of the Researcher Development Community
Nominations for the 2024 Vitae ICE Awards have now CLOSED
Following a successful inaugural year, we are delighted to be running the Vitae Impact, Culture, and Engagement (ICE) Awards again in 2024. The final awards ceremony will be held on Monday 23 September as part of the Vitae International Researcher Development Conference Gala dinner at The Rep, Birmingham, UK.
The second year of the Vitae Impact, Culture, and Engagement (ICE) Awards aims to celebrate and highlight the impactful and innovative work carried out by the researcher development community, acknowledging the significant contributions it makes towards helping researchers reach their full potential.
In 2023, we received 55 nominations from across 33 institutions, showcasing the fantastic breadth of work undertaken and the real depth of its impact. Taking part positively impacted nominees and the colleagues who nominated them, and the winners have put their prize money to good use in service of the wider researcher development community.

I loved taking part in the shortlisting process, which very much had inclusion at its heart. The organisers have been incredibly friendly and supportive in their communications and instructions."

Yes! We are forming a community panel, who will review and shortlist the nominations.
Members of last year’s community panel spoke of the process as inclusive and enriching, and a real privilege. Involvement will include reading and reviewing a selection of nominations against the judging criteria and attending an optional online meeting to discuss and determine the shortlist.
We would like this panel to have representatives from across our community, so please do submit a short application if you are interested.
Are there opportunities for sponsoring the Vitae ICE Awards 2024?
There are opportunities at multiple levels for those interested in supporting the awards. Please contact events@vitae.ac.uk for further information.
