Employability and Engagement Manager, Doctoral College
Biography
Clare is currently the Employability and Engagement Manager at the University of Surrey working within the Doctoral College. She is seeking to lead a step change in engaging PGRs and ECRs, across the institution, in professional skills training and employability focused development opportunities, and supporting their transition to employment either within or outside of academia. A key part of her role is building relationships with employers.
Clare also manages two career professionals who offer career consultations and career related workshops and who co-ordinate employability initiatives, such as our Institute of Directors membership for our PGRs and ECRs, the 3MT and employer mentoring.
Clare also has substantial experience of working in the public and private sector within the employability, enterprise and research agendas as well as a proven track record of programme and project management. She is also a qualified Careers Consultant.
She is also a member of the Association of Graduate Careers Advisory Services (AGCAS), the Institute of Student Employers (ISE) and a volunteer mentor for the Princes Trust.
Due to her current role as well as her intrinsic interest in career and professional development, she is keen to be an active member of the Vitae Researcher Careers Working Group.
