CROS and PIRLS under review

The Careers in Research Online Survey (CROS) and the Principal Investigators and Research Leaders Survey (PIRLS) are run biennially and gather anonymous data about working conditions, career aspirations and career development opportunities for research staff and research leaders in higher education institutions.

These two surveys provide valuable data and benchmarking for measuring progress in implementation of the Concordat to Support the Career Development of Researchers, achieving and maintaining the HR Excellence in Research Award and Athena Swan, and submission of the REF Research Environment submission by Units of Assessment.

The Concordat Strategy Group are undertaking an external review of the progress that has been made in implementing the principles of the Concordat since 2008.

The CROS and PIRLS online surveys closed on 31 May 2017. Analysis of each survey is underway and results will be announced at the Vitae Researcher Development International Conference 11-12 September 2017, Birmingham.
