General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Vitae
The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) was agreed in April 2016 and comes into effect 25 May 2018. The regulation was written by representatives from the supervisory authorities of each EU nation including the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
GDPR aims to consolidate national regulations and ensure the efficient flow of information between businesses and public bodies across the EU while protecting the rights of EU citizens.
Vitae takes its responsibilities as guardians of your personal data very seriously. We regularly review our processes to keep them robust and secure.
We will be updating our Privacy Notices and emailing you to let you know about any changes made due to GDPR before the 25 May.
You can find more information about GDPR on the Information Commissioner's Office's GDPR update site or the EU's GDPR portal.
If you have any questions about the data that Vitae holds about you, please email dataprotection@vitae.ac.uk.
