#Vitaehangout: Making the most of PhD placements - 20 March

As part of our latest 'Focus-on: realising your potential' theme we are pleased to announce that we will be running a #Vitaehangout on Tuesday 20 March at 12 - 1pm (GMT) about making the most of PhD placements.

Work experience beyond the usual research environment can significantly broaden researchers'  career options so this is a good opportunity to get expert advice from doctoral researchers who have completed placements as well as from other higher education professionals involved in organising placements. Our panellists will be taking audience questions and providing advice on:

  • The benefits and challenges of a work placement
  • Organising and preparing & what to expect
  • Time out of PhD to pursue non-academic experience
  • How a placement can affect career plans
