Proud signatory of Agreement on Reforming Research Assessment
The Careers Research and Advisory Research Ltd that manages the Vitae programme is pleased to announce that it is now a signatory organisation of the Agreement on Reforming Research Assessment, and, subsequently, a member of the Constitutive Assembly of the Coalition for Advancing Research Assessment (CoARA). The agreement’s vision is to evolve the assessment of research, researchers, and research organisations, such that it recognises the diverse outputs, practises and activities that constitute a healthy and sustainable research system.
Reforming research assessment is pivotal to Vitae’s mission of supporting the development of researchers and enhancing the environment in which research is conducted.
“Researchers’ efforts to foster a positive and inclusive research culture should be rewarded and recognised as essential, not simply charitable, and we strongly believe research assessment should be transformed to reflect this.
Equally, researchers should be encouraged to pursue broadening activities and diverse career paths given this provides value to both their professional development and their research outputs, and we are pleased to see this recognised in the Agreement”.
