Deadlines extended for HR Excellence in Research Award cohorts - March 2020
The below update has been shared with key contacts at member institutions regarding the HR Excellence in Research process in light of current events.
Upcoming HR EiR deadlines
Due to the disruption to normal working practices caused by coronavirus (COVID-19), we have taken the decision to extend deadlines for institutions of the following Cohorts as follows:
- Cohort 5 - Original deadline 29 May 2020, new deadline 29 July 2020
- Cohort 10 - Original deadline 8 May 2020, new deadline 8 July 2020
- Cohorts 13 and 16 - Original deadline 5 June 2020, new deadline 5 August 2020
Please note: it may take longer to review these submissions than usual, depending on the availability of peer reviewers and the UK Panel.

As you will likely be aware, the Concordat to Support the Career Development of Researchers was revised in 2019 following sector consultation, resulting in the publication of the new Researcher Development Concordat in September of last year.
Understandably, many of you will have questions about the impact this has on the HR Excellence in Research Award process. With this in mind, we are planning to hold a Member Webinar on Wednesday 22 April, which will cover the HR EiR process in light of the new Concordat and how we are planning to support the process going forward.
All institutions holding the Award are welcome to attend and we encourage you to send us any specific questions ahead of the webinar so that we can incorporate them into the content.
