REF PCE Indicators project – Transparency Statement
The information submitted here will be used to support development of the final REF 2029 People, Culture and Environment (PCE) indicators. Your personal information will only be used to process your expression of interest response as described below, and to produce statistics to support monitoring of equalities information as part of the public sector equality duty. Data as collected will only be viewed by Vitae. Only aggregated and anonymised data will be viewed by members of staff from UKRI (Research England), the Scottish Funding Council, the Higher Education Funding Council for Wales, the Department for the Economy, Northern Ireland, and external colleagues employed to support this piece of work.
We will process your personal information so that we may contact you about the PCE indicators policy development. We will also use information about your employer and role to make decisions about who will be invited to workshops, to ensure representation of different sector interests.
Some of the information we have requested is special category data that we will use for equality monitoring. We will not use this information to make decisions about your application. We will use it to produce aggregated information about the requested equality categories. However, while we are processing your information, your equality data responses will be matched to information that allows you to be personally identified. Therefore, after we have finished processing the equality information, we will delete the special category data that is personal to you.
Research England is a council of UK Research and Innovation (UKRI). All personal data provided to UKRI in connection to this consultation process will be processed in accordance with current UK data protection legislation. Further information on how we use personal data, and how you can exercise your rights as a data subject, can be found in the UK Research and Innovation Privacy Notice. UKRI complies with current data protection law in the UK and we process and handle personal information in accordance to this. Your personal information will not be used/shared for any other purpose without your specific consent. UKRI reserves the right to publish and share anonymised summarised information with stakeholders.
